FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL

Elder possesses over ten years of experience across multiple sectors. His expertise encompasses research, stakeholder engagement, community programming, event organization, project planning and management, strategic communications, as well as policy analysis, development, and implementation.

He has extensive professional background, notably serving as a Grant Management Specialist for the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) Climate Team. In this role, he spearheaded initiatives to develop and implement metrics for grant programs, established data collection and reporting systems, and provided strategic oversight for the multi-million-dollar Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) program, leading a team of partners dedicated to equity.

Elder also contributed to local government as the Sustainability Policy Associate for the City of Providence, where he played a key role in establishing the inaugural Resilience Hub, organizing the Youth Climate Summit, and advocating for policies addressing urban flooding, sea-level rise, and equitable urban planning.

Additionally, Elder holds substantial non-profit leadership experience as the Director of Community Programs at the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council. In this capacity, he fostered urban leadership, built strategic partnerships, and directed initiatives related to climate resilience, recreation, and fundraising. He actively participates in committees and boards, holding leadership roles related to sustainability, equity, and civil rights.

Elder earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science with a specialization in Wildlife Conservation. Recognized as a compelling speaker, he has been invited to present at prominent institutions and organizations, including the Pulitzer Center, the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), Brown University, and the University of Rhode Island.
