Marleny Mont, a Mount Holyoke College graduate, earned a BA in International Relations and Portuguese Studies, specializing in international law. Born in Boston to Cabo Verdean parents, her heritage and commitment to international cooperation shape her journey. Early experiences include an internship at the Embassy of Cabo Verde and a summer program at The Hague, where she learned about international law and diplomacy.
Throughout her career, Marleny has shown a passion for bridging cultures and communities. Believing in connection and collaboration, she's committed to programs that foster understanding, respect, and progress between Cabo Verde and its international partners.
Recently, Marleny has expanded her focus to promote economic empowerment for women. Beyond her diplomatic work, she has led projects that elevate women in business and entrepreneurship, mainly within Cabo Verdean and Lusophone communities. Her initiatives focus on business development, cultural identity, leadership, and innovation, showcasing her commitment to social and economic inclusion.
Outside of her job, Marleny is a dedicated mother to Maya, Jayme, and Max, who inspire her. She balances her career and family while pursuing passions like hiking, reading, and engaging in global and cultural discussions.
Marleny’s work is driven by a belief in relationships' transformative power, and she remains committed to creating spaces where diplomacy, entrepreneurship, and cultural heritage thrive together.
